Stan Lee Says A Star Wars/Marvel Crossover Is Possible

Disney now owns the two biggest money-making franchises in history; Star Wars and Marvel. Fans are now speculating that a crossover film could very well be in the works. They have been
clamoring about a mega-franchise crossover film would be like for quite a few years now. However just recently Stan Lee (The Godfather of Comics) did aninterview with Big Issue, and he weighed in on what the odds of such a huge meeting ever taking place. This idea came forward after he was asked is he though the characters from Marvel would ever possibly come together in a movie, despite the rights of certain characters like the X-Men and Fantastic Four are basically being held captive by Fox, where as Disney already owns the rest of Marvel; chances being that Fox is waiting for a bigger payout from Disney, but that’s neither here nor there.
“yeah, probably” Stan Lee said, “It’ll be the most expansive film ever produced! But anything that the public wants to see you can be sure it will eventually be produced”, When he was asked specifically about a possible Marvel/Star Wars crossover, Lee says, “Well, I don’t know how many characters you can have in a movie but obviously the people who produce these things are looking to be as successful as possible,” he continued, “If they feel that incorporating Star Wars with the Marvel characters will be very successful, they’ll find a way to do it. Can you imagine Spider-Man saying, “May the Force Be With You?” It may come to that!”
As Stan Lee puts it, there are going to be some precedence for heroes that have to come together under one common goal; which is the circumstance that formed the first Avengers lineup, “We did it in the comics. I created the Avengers by taking many of our characters and making a team out of them,” he says, “We can have as many characters join the Avengers as we want to for future movies. That might be fun too – all of a sudden Luke Skywalker is an Avenger!”
What do you think, should Marvel/Star Wars be a consideration now that Disney owns the two franchises? Or do you think they should just keep them as their own separate entities? Sound off in the comments with your opinion.
