Mark Hamill to Reprise His Role as The Joker in DC's Animated Version of The Killing Joke (Video
The Joker has long been considered one of the greatest villains to have ever been created, especially to fans of comic books. He has been the main antagonist in plenty of comics since his debut in 1940, but there is one particular title that sticks out in the mind of any Joker fan.
The Killing Joke was created by Allen Moore and Brian Bolland in 1988 and was an instant hit, being the story that many say to be one of the greatest Batman tales ever told. So it was no surprise that when DC announced an animated version of The Killing Joke everyone went wild, and it also became obvious who everyone was begging to take up the mantle to be the Clown Prince of Crime's voice. Mark Hamill has been voicing The Joker for almost 25 years, since Batman: The Animated Series in 1992, and has been the fan favorite to portray him ever since.
He has played The Joker in almost every animated television series and movie, as well as video
games, toys, and even amusement park rides since. He has been known to be very protective of his role and leaps at any chance to voice him, if he isn't already handed the job for being so good at it. And to everyone's excitement, it has been confirmed that he will indeed be the actor we hear laughing when The Joker is on screen.
One of the reasons Mark Hamill is thought to be the best Joker is that he has the ability to tap into the character, and bring out what makes him such a terribly fantastic foe. Hamill uses The Joker's laugh as a way of telling his mood, comparing his laugh to a musical instrument with a variety of different versions depending on the character's state of mind. The Joker is my favorite villain of all time, and Mark Hamill is my favorite voice actor for him, and it just so happens he will be voicing him in the movie adaptation of my favorite comic. So needless to say, I am extremely excited for this movie to come out next year and I know that Hamill will do an unforgettable job while portraying him.
