Let's face it everyone basis their knowledge of the Stone Age on The Flintstones, but what if this timeless classic wasn't based during this time period at all? Maybe The Flintstones is actually based in a post apocalyptic future. Could Bedrock be the wasteland remains of what was once a modern day metropolis? Take the made for TV

movie The Jetsons Meet the Flintstones, the whole movie is based around George Jetsons son Elroy creating a time machine that is supposed to send the family into the future, but the time machine malfunctions and the family had thought they had been sent to the past, but in reality the time machine actually worked and transported them to a future that had been blasted back to the stone age?

This also begs the question of if the Jetsons are aware of the current state of their planet, which is why they live in a city above the Earth. To escape the wasteland below as they wait for the planet to recover from a nuclear holocaust. With this premiss it's safe to assume that the dinosaurs were generically manufactured by humans and allowed to evolve, or created with the intent that they

would use speech and intelligence. The most charming aspect of The Flintstones is all the animals that have been re-imagined as house hold appliances such as the Mammoth-Powered Dishwasher, The Pig-Operated Garbage Disposal, and Pterodactyl Record Player. Now this is important because we're told that this is a primitive family that's living in what is perceived as the Stone Age. Yet there's a vast use of modern technology, which means there had to of been somewhere they were getting the knowledge. Scrapping what they have and implementing everything in the world around them to rebuild in the image of what society once was.

If all the re-imagined modern technology doesn't convince you. How do you explain The Flintstones Christmas special? They're not just putting a pine tree in their cave-like homes.

They're celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ, which if this is a show based during the Stone Age this happened way before the birth of Jesus, but what else would compel them to put presents under the tree? The Flintstones also have what appears to be a refined economic system, never have I once witnessed them

trade any goods or services on the show. This means they're not operating on any type of barter system, but a complex banking system complete with modern day bank notes, and deposit slips chiseled from stone.

Lastly it's important to remember that The Flintstones was actually created during the peak of the Cold War and originally airing from 1960 to 1966. During this time the Soviets and America were having a atomic showdown which could have resulted in blasting humanity back to the past. The Flintstones could actually be mankind surviving in the future rebuilding what is left of our technology, religion, and entertainment. Holding on to the best of what mankind once had to offer.
