“When there's somethin' strange, in the neighborhood, who you gonna call? Ghostbusters!” Everyones favorite Ghostbusters from the 80s will be no more as the four likable guys Dr Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Dr Raymond
Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Dr Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), and Winston Zeddmore (Ernie Hudson), will be no more. Harold Ramis, I am sad to say passed in 2014 and Bill Murray says that making a Ghostbusters 3 would be like making the Godfather Part 3 and he is not interested in the part. In response to this it seems Dan Aykroyd is doing a reboot instead of making a 3rd film.
The new Ghostbusters are going to be, Leslie Jones as Patty Tolan, Kate McKinnon as Jilian Holtzmann, Kristen Wiig as Erin Gabler, and Melissa McCarthy as Abby Bergman. Plus a male version of Janine, Chris Hemsworth will be Kevin the receptionist. What a gender swap. It will be interesting to see if it will be the same kind of family entertainment we are used to from Ghostbusters or if they will put a new spin on it. Either way its sure to be a hit.
So far they have released what the Ghostbusters uniforms are gonna look like, and what their new “Proton Packs” will look like as well. The new uniforms still sport the common Ghostbusters insignia but with a few changes, like the stripes for instance. The Proton Packs look like a steampunk dream and I'm sure they will work out fine. I, for one, hope that this movie comes out in 3-D Theaters because ive been waiting for this since 1989 when they released Ghostbusters 2. I cant say I like the fact that its a reboot though, I think they could've had the original ghostbusters kids or apprentices or something in place for the story as opposed to “well you guys are out and these women are in” approach. It has been 26 years after all, these things could've happened in that time. We could have the exact same timeline and add these women as the new Ghostbusting crew seeking out new ghosts to bust and capture them. But Dan Aykroyd apparently has a different Idea. Its sure to be a good movie either way and I cant wait to see it.
