News from Nintendo has confirmed that the upcoming Zelda title will not be hitting the shelves any time soon and in fact has been pushed back to release sometime next year.
The makers of Zelda have announced their decision to delay the game's release, believing that a 2015 release would not give the creators adequate time to develop new ideas which will make this adventure more epic than all other Zelda games.
In his announcement posted on YouTube, producer of the Legend of Zelda, Eiji Aonuma appears to make a formal apology for this unexpected delay and to assure fans it is only to insure this game will be the best it can possibly be. Eiji goes on to say the game will have an "open world" format which excites me greatly.
I, like many, have always had a special place in my heart for the Ocarina of Time and feel that since then the franchise has taken a roller coaster ride of successes and failures (a.k.a. The Wind Waker/Four Swords).
Although there is still much speculation about what is going on at Nintendo, we won't know what new treasures await Zelda fans until 2016. I am a firm believer that you cannot rush perfection and I have hope that we may have something truly amazing in store for us at next year's E3 conference.
