Star Wars is known for having some of the lushest scenery in any movie franchise to date, and bringing any of the aesthetics from the movies to Earth would seem kind of taboo. Unless of course you're Nicolas Amiard who has created some of the most realistic and pleasing visuals from wrecked Star Wars starships to Earth.
If you've seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, and really who hasn't? (I have about 100,000 times) There's no doubt you've seen the wrecked empirical Star Destroyer crash landed on Tatooine, and no doubt this is where this
Paris based artist drew his inspiration from. Every depiction uses a photo-realistic medium that clashes with their background and foreground so perfectly that Earth's historic landmarks transform into life in a way that forces those looking on them to breathe in the majesty of Star Wars.
Amiard says, "I thought the scene of the crashed destroyer in the latest trailer very inspiring. Star Wars is an imaginary universe and bringing elements from this universe in our real world seemed to be a very interesting contrast to work on.” Timeless ships like the X-Wing Fighter and Millennium Falcon are depicted crash landing on populated metropolises like New York's water front, and the busy streets of London.
With Star Wars: The Force Awakens only 175 days away from premiering there has been a surplus of replicas (That's action figures to the adult crowd), video games, and Star Wars themed artwork that have been flooding the feeds all across the web. Making it apparent that Star Wars isn't just another franchise, but a movement. Something people can stand behind and be proud of, and that couldn't be more true than for this graphic designer.
