Guerrilla Games is at it again. After the success of the Killzone franchise, they have started, since 2011 that is, to try their hand at RPG's. Horizon Zero Dawn. Set for release at the end of 2016, this game will have no load screens and a dynamic day/night cycle.
While not completing missions the game will feature an open world that can be explored. There will be many ways to kill your enemies like traps, shooting them with bow and arrows, explosions, melee combat and silent take down. Crafting will also be present with different materials and electronics found throughout the world.
Players will take control of Aloy, a hunter/archer, as she struggles to survive a post-apocalyptic world run by mechanical creatures. Set in the future, 1000 years from present, human civilization is obsolete and nature has taken over everything overgrown throughout the cities of Earth and more. The half Mecha, half Biological creatures inside the open world, give Aloy the opportunity to sharpen her skills and loot their bodies for parts and electricity vital to her survival.
From what has been revealed at E3 the cut scenes looks just as good as the actual gameplay, and there are no tutorials, the player will be expected to develop strategies based on trial and error and individual play style. As for the creatures, some being gigantic robotic dinosaurs, get bigger the strategy will have to get better to counter their size and power. Players are challenged to use their traps and weapons to try to find the weak points of every one. The game looks like what would happen if Turok got together with The Last of Us and threw in a lot of strategy from Shadows of the Colossus. This will surely be a must have hit for all PS4 players to enjoy.
