So our impressions of muscle cars are about to change. The 2015 Ford mustang now has a 4 cylinder turbo option that Ford is calling Eco-boost. How can you have a muscle car with a 4 banger in it ? Well you'd be surprised how well people are taking to this new set up. Obviously you can still get the big 5 litre V8, but the inline 4 has many advantages over its big brother. First off its lighter. Muscle cars are known to be fat heavy growling monsters that can go fast in a straight line but fail to preform on a street course with corners. The lighter turbo engine allows for
weight to be distributed more evenly which makes the car handle better around corners then it's V8 brother hands down. In addition, the 4 cylinder version is cheaper. 3,000 dollars cheaper be exact. The technology within this new Eco-boost is much more sophisticated than its big brother too. Upgraded cam shafts, Higher flowing cylinder heads, light weight, higher strength pistons, and much more make this engine something to look out for. And let's not forget the better fuel efficiency. The V8 gets a whopping 16 mpg city while the 4 cylinder gets a better 22 mpg city. In my opinion, I see nothing but positives. This is still a mustang that's just lighter, cheaper, and still a blast to drive. I really think this new age of muscle cars is going to evolve with this kind of set up, and I'm kind of excited. What do you guys think?
