Who Shot Ya?
So I am here to talk about one of the biggest controversies of the Star Wars story. A controversy that wasn’t that big of a deal when I was growing up but became a big deal around 1997. Not only am I going to talk about the controversy but I am as well going to be giving my own opinion on this matter. So let’s get this going and talk about the real issues in life such as who shot first…
This has been a question asked by many speculated by many more. Was it Han or was it Greedo? In the first release of Star Wars: A New Hope it was in fact Han, however when George Lucas re-released the movies in ’97 Greedo shot missed and Han fired back. Now let’s take a look at some proof that clears this all up, followed by my own personal opinion that you all may hate me for. I really don’t care it’s the internet and that’s what the internet is for opinions and hate.
Here we have the original script in which if you look you can clearly see not only did Han shoot first, he fired the only shot. Case point right? Well why did Mr. Lucas change this? That is where I bring my opinion because even though Mr. Lucas is very creative he has also proven that he is not the most honest person in bringing up how he creates (again just my opinion). So Han shot first because he wasn’t a good guy he was a bad guy and that was the plan. When the movies came out that story changed and Han came off as the most Bad Ass Character of the story (other than my homie Boba Fett).
At that point in time nobody wanted to see the same movie twice they wanted to see the next movie. So Han shot first and until it was re-released in which George “Fan Boy Worshipper” Lucas gave the fans what they wanted and made it so that Han shot in defense. However this is the part that everyone needs to remember… HAN TURNED INTO A GOOD GUY AFTER SAVING THE PRINCESS. He was not always a good guy he was a criminal and wanted to get away before he was killed… So the only thing that makes sense is for Han to shoot first.
That is my opinion and if you think about it from a story point of view and not from a fan boy view it is the only way that makes sense.
